Short version: it stays on your Mac.

Last updated October 14, 2026

The app

itsTypo runs on your Mac. Correction, completion, rewriting and dictation happen on-device; the app has no cloud engines.
Your writing history and what the app learns from you are stored locally, encrypted, in your Library folder. You can turn learning off or erase it in Settings.
The app's prediction log records decisions, not your sentences, unless you switch on a developer setting.
The network is used to download models you choose and to check for updates. Nothing you type is sent.

If you join the waitlist with an email address we store that address, when you joined and who referred you.
If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and store them with your waitlist entry. We use them only to manage early access and to email you about it.
Survey answers (your Mac's memory, where you type, any note) are optional and used to decide who to invite next.
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one to remember a referral code during sign-in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
We count visits with Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that sets no cookies, respects Do Not Track and stores no personal data.
Data is stored with Supabase. We never sell or share it.

Ask us to delete your waitlist entry and account at any time and we will.
Text typed into the playground on this site is sent to our server only to work out each suggestion, then discarded — it is never stored or logged.

Questions or deletion requests: reply to any email from us.
